KEVIN McHUGH Art Exhibit

With an opening party on November 30th at The Out NYC Hotel, Artist Kevin McHugh unveiled his new Pucci-inspired sculpture collection of fish and shark sculptures adorned with Swarovski crystals.This new collection, a six sculpture assemblage, pays homage to McHugh’s other muse: the world of fashion. McHugh, along with Patricia Field and Danny Tenaglia, hosted

The collection debuted in New York City in an exhibition with the support of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS and Avant Gallery. It remained on display at The Out NYC Hotel, located at 510 West 42nd Street, from November 30th to December 2nd and was open to the public, after which it went to be showcased at the Avant Gallery in Miami for an Art Basel presentation.

DIFFA "DINING BY DESIGN" Benefit

On March 23rd, Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) hosted its 15th-annual Dining by Design fundraiser in New York at Pier 94, in conjunction with the Architectural Digest Home Show. It was hosted by fashion designer Tracy Reese and culinary master Geoffrey Zakarian and honored powerhouse fashion and design figures, Isabel and Ruben Toledo, long-time supporters of DIFFA, and Rick Wolf, showcasing more than 40 table settings devised by leaders in the design community.

The exhibition and gala dinner, held for the fourth year in a row at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show, raised $650,000 for the charity. Ralph Lauren executive vice president and chief retail creative officer Alfredo Paredes—who had a hand in creating Ralph Lauren’s table—was honored with the first annual David Rockwell DIFFA Service Award, to recognize his efforts on behalf of the organization.

NEUE WELT by Wolfgang Tillmans - book signing

Over at Taschen Books on April 29th, Wolfgang Tillmans was present to sign his latest publication of both his book Neue Welt and its accompanying Limited Art Edition portfolio that can be purchased separately. Other of his previously published photo books were also at hand for signing.

April 30th was the date when Agostino Antiques, Ltd. had a presentation to discuss the incorporation of antiques in contemporary interior design, taking place in their showroom at the Decoration & Design Building.

Cuban born Miguel Dominguez graduated from the High School of Art and Design, and the Fashion Institute of Technology, majoring in photography at both institutions.

In 1992, with the advent of digital graphic technology, Miguel began to manipulate photographic images using Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter, creating an extensive portfolio of photo illustrations on various subjects, one of these being a series of variations on the Mona Lisa.

Gabriella Fine Wines arranged on May 20th for Orsay Restaurant to be the place to go for the very privileged members of the wine trade and press, who were ever so lucky to taste a smallish, but superb selection of wines from the Burgundy region of France. The owners of many prestigious Burgundy wineries were sampling more than 35 wines from estates including Domaine Sylvain LoichetDomaine Des RempartsDomaine FourreyDomaine des Trois TilleulsSeigneurie De PosangesDomaine Naudin, Varrault Maison, Veuve Ambal and Miss Vicky Wine.

Larry Clark Stuff, Boo-Hooray‘s exhibition drawn from Larry’s personal collection of skateboard decks, skater t-shirts and related posters, stickers, photographs and stuff had it's New York opening in the Chelsea art district of New York on March 6th.

Cuban born Miguel Dominguez majored in photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

After graduation, he began to work in the field of commercial photography, first assisting well established advertising photographers who specialized in tabletop still life, fashion and beauty, architectural, and location photography. Throughout the latter part of this period, he developed an interest in the art of photomontage, creating a large body of work in the subject of erotic fantasy.

After several years of this type of on the job training, he started out photographing architectural interiors, then publicity events and celebrity coverage.

In 1992, with the advent of digital graphic technology, Miguel decided to change careers and become a photo illustrator and graphic designer. Within one year, he stablished himself as a successful freelance photo manipulator and graphic designer with a very wide publishing and advertising clientele.
